Disaster Preparation

This page aims to equip our community with the knowledge, resources, and tools necessary to face emergencies confidently and effectively.

Disasters can strike unexpectedly, leaving communities vulnerable and in need of immediate support.

Being prepared is not just a recommendation, but a necessity to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and families.

Organisational Preparedness

This presentation outlines a proactive disaster preparedness plan.

It covers communication protocols, response teams, and tech tools like emergency apps.

It’s a guide to navigating challenges and ensuring community safety.

Prepare and Respond

In this section, you will find comprehensive guidance on creating emergency plans, assembling essential supplies, accessing support services, and staying informed during crises. By taking proactive steps and staying informed, we can mitigate risks, protect our loved ones, and build resilience in the face of adversity.

It is important to prepare your home BEFORE bushfire and flood seasons and have an action plan for how you will respond in the case of a fire, flood or other natural disasters.

Explore the resources provided here to empower yourself and your community to be ready for whatever challenges may come our way.

Preparedness checklists, emergency plans, creating emergency kits

The Red Cross, SES and NSW Rural Fire Service have great information on how to prepare your property and home for natural disasters. You can also find checklists and templates to help you create a plan of action (including planning for pets and vulnerable family members), building first aid and emergency kits for floods and fires. The SES website also provides specific information on river systems and Flood watch for the LGA’s across the northern rivers.

Collaborating 4 Inclusion provides information for people with disabilities preparing for a natural disaster.
